A ballet book for real kids

I told the illustrator, “I don’t want perfect kids; I want real kids.” We’re talking braces, band-aids, and rumpled clothing.

So Joshua made sure that each character has their own personality: Dotty trips and stumbles her way across the stage, with a smile on her face and a band-aid on her knee. Sweetie is probably not the ideal shape for a ballerina, but she tries her hardest and is always on point. And boys dance, too! Our Little Prince will someday hoist a ballerina overhead; we’re sure about that!

Serious Fun with Miss Leslie: BALLET is a whimsical, illustrated children’s book that helps young children learn the 5 Positions and other moves. It’s a fun way to introduce and reinforce ballet basics. It will be released in mid-November 2019, just in time for the holiday season.
